Moses is our real founding father.

The pilgrims quoted his story. Moses in America book Franklin and Jefferson proposed he appear on the U.S. seal. Washington and Lincoln were called his incarnations. The Statue of Liberty and Superman were Moses is both, Prince of Egypt, as the movie describes him, and one of the Hebrew people.

He identifies with both the Hebrew people who are oppressed and the empire that oppresses them. And, it is that in-between-ness that is part of Moses’s identity that puts him in a particularly strategic place to be the deliverer of the Hebrew   The book only contains part of Moses Light’s work/book.

Feiler’s book reads   THIS BOOK: In a very dramatic attempt to rescue an old Hebrew man being beaten by the slavedriver, the Egyptian *accidentally* falls to his death. Moses narrowly escapes death himself and is saved at the last minute by grasping for the old man.
