History. The constituency was created by the Representation of the People Act for the general election, when the two-seat Norwich constituency was divided into Norwich North and Norwich South. The Labour MP for this seat from to was Charles Clarke who served in the cabinet for five years from to , first as Minister without Portfolio, then as Secretary of State for.   The Norwich City Council ballot has 13 candidates includes six Democrats, five Republicans, a Libertarian and a petitioning candidate.

History. The constituency was created by the Representation of the People Act for the general election, when the former two-seat constituency of Norwich was divided into two single-member seats, Norwich North and Norwich South.. It was initially a safe seat for the Labour Party, held continuously by the party until , when major boundary changes made the seat much more favourable. Norwich South is a constituency in Norfolk, in the East of England of England. The seat has been held by Clive Lewis (Labour) since May The city was awarded the dignity of a lord mayoralty by letters patent in "in view of the position occupied by that city as the chief city of East Anglia and of its close association with his Majesty" When Norwich became a metropolitan borough in the honour was reconfirmed by letters patent dated 1 April .
