Among the various risk-taking behaviors engaged in by persons at high risk of becoming infected with HIV or transmitting HIV, we know the most about drug abuse behavior and sexual behavior. This chapter focuses on those two types of risk-taking behavior, and on their inter-relationships. We discuss the neurobiological basis of sexual risk taking and drug-related risk taking in order to uncover.
